Koobarra Relaunches
by mike

I'm relaunching Koobarra.com -

The world doesn't need any more social 'blogging' communities and friend networks. That's what this software was originally intended for. They mostly tend to grow out of control and have little actual communication value.

But something those of us living in the Southern Highlands lack is an online place to interact and share stuff with others - without joining one of these huge global parties. I'd like to see if Koobarra can fill that need. Maybe it can, maybe it can't. No harm in trying.

The website is open to all. It contains many interactive tools and applications that are free for your use (some of these require registration). Local residents are encouraged to join in and share items of interest to others in the region, and hopefully it will grow. Tell us about your coming garage sale or pony club meetup. There's also an event calendar to mention upcoming activities. You can create a forum or weblog, share photos, music and much more. Create your very own topical interest groups. There are chat rooms and reference tools for your use. You can look at your favorite blogs and other websites right here in one place via our newsreader.

We do ask that you refrain from posting spam or blatantly commercial content which serves nobody but yourself. Improper and indecent material will also not be tolerated. Persons involved in said transgressions will be dealt with accordingly.

This is a community resource for all to enjoy.

If you have questions, see the Help page or send me (mike) a message.

Oh, and it's 'Koobarra' - based on an aboriginal legend of two brothers (somewhat like Abel and Cain); not  'Kookaburra' - which has been a bit over-used in Australian advertising.
